    Blockif help

Just after a thumbs up really that what I am trying to do will work, and if my understanding of blockif is correct.

If I have 10 brands, each with different packaging. Can I put all 10 packaging layouts in to 1 Sellerdeck Layout and use blockif to show the correct packaging layout based upon the brand of the product?
    Regards

Yes. Is the short answer. The longer answer, the best way to go about it depends on exactly what you want to do, how the layout will need to change. If you give some more specific details then ideas could be given on how to go about it.

      Once again many thanks Louise.

Basically all packaging layouts would be the same, just different text and picture depending on brand.

For easy management try and keep the code to a minimum, you would probably just need one product layout with most of the main features the same but some blockifs to show or hide the different content dependent on a custom variable. A custom variable with place of setting to section as well as product will allow you to change all products within a section at the same time using a menu setting, rather than setting them on each product individually. Bear in mind if you create a variable using "List of Choices" and in the future decide to rename one of the choices if will wipe the setting for all products using the old choice, see: List of choices variable reverting after renaming.

You can even do this without BlockIf's. In Design / Library / Layouts / Products, you could create new layouts for each brand called Acme, Blogco, etc. Do this by right-click / copying an existing Product Layout and tweak / rename the copy to suit. You now have a brand specific way of choosing product layouts via the Product Details / Layout tab.
