Site snapshots versus database file copy

    Hi all,

We run 2013 multi site, and edit the sites on a different PC to the one that 'hosts' the sites and downloads orders. This setup is a fixed feature and cannot be changed.

Running a number of sites means we are taking a large number of snapshots on a daily basis, something which takes a lot of time to do. As the sites grow, this problem is only going to become more prevalent.

Assuming that all the image files for each site are on both machines in the same locations, instead of taking a snapshot couldnt I just copy across the .db file?

Would this include ALL site changes and ALL new orders? Any advice would be much appreciated.

The access file will contain all the orders and current design changes except any related images etc. As long as you make regular snapshots you can supplement that with frequent database backups - just make sure you close the database before copying it.
