Time Limited Offer

I am looking to create an Amazon style time limited offer of a random product on our site. The choice of product will be made by a human so no complex script needed for that part lol. I am looking for a way to display the product on the home page showing a thumbnail image, new price and countdown timer until offer expires.

Am I hoping for too much or is it possible?

If I were doing this I would just place an image of the offer where you want it, linking through to the product page.

I am sure you can find a count down script somewhere to add.

As for the discount, either just change the price for the duration, or add a discount for the day, week etc that does not require a coupon code.

Customer adds product to cart and discount is automatically applied.

Say you were doing 10 products in advance, you can set a discount to each product which is only valid on the specified day. I am sure that you could also find a script that only displays a certain image on a certain day.

With a bit of help from Google, I don't think it would be that hard.
