Upgrade path v9 to 2013

Is there a recommended upgrade path from v9 to 2013?

It it advisable for a non-techy to go straight from v9 to 2013 using the in built site upgrade or should I get an outside Sellerdeck 'expert' in to do the upgrade?

It depends how thorough you want your upgrade to be. For older versions it's best to upgrade it through incremental versions. If you upgrade a default site it is often okay, if you upgrade a customised site the auto-ugrader will attempt to insert new code but there may be areas it fails that need manual correction, as well as settings that need updating and the upgrade wipes scripts and plugins back to defaults that need reinstating. If you want to make sure that your site is using the latest code and settings then you may like to ask an expert to go through the site.
