    Music To Your Ears

    Hi all,

My new Sellerdeck store has been launched, and would love any feedback you may have.

    www.musictoyourears.co.uk

I'd also like to say that I will happily offer a 10% discount to anyone from the Sellerdeck community who wants to buy any headphones or wireless speakers for themselves or as a Christmas present for someone. Just get in touch through the website and I'll send a code.

    Cheers

    Joel

        Thanks all.

Yes the filtering with the 'any' box remaining ticked seems to be a big issue for users, that is the main feedback I've had from people navigating the site. I need to get that fixed.

There do appear to be 2 broken links in the footer too.

        What does this mean please?

Your designer probably had Ian at SellerDeck support help make a change to the search script and there's a stray bracket in there which is reporting an error.

Ah. My designer is unfortunately away until 16th October.

I don't get a Javascript error pop up on my browser and it does not stop site functionality so you could wait until their return or you could contact the SellerDeck support team yourself.

                Joel,
quick look, and I think big-G will slowly penalise you over time, on your speed. I have a 40mb link, but images are slow to download.

I ended up arriving at your Sports section, directly off the sports-button, the image called "sports.png" comes in at a massive 300.32 kB (307,529 bytes)
you need to start optimising your images, something you can do without your designer.

All these little things will all add up in the long run.

Thanks very much for the feedback Kev. I will do this. Funny how things work. My background is advertising and brochures etc, and this involves a lot of photoshoots. The images we use are often over 100mB for decent resolution, 300kB has always been weeny to me!

Well that's a few hours of my life that I'll never get back. All images are now bloomin' tiny, mere 50-90kb each instead of those huge files

There are still some monster images lurking. First one I tried ( http://www.musictoyourears.co.uk/aca...ckf303-425.jpg ) came in at 675Kb!

It may be worth FTP'ing to your server and displaying acatalog sorted by size. Those biggies will show up easily then.

Google for "How do I FTP to a server" (3rd result "Web browser" looks promising) and look in SellerDeck / Web / Network Setup for the info you need.
