    Mobile Site Page Redirects

    Hi Guys,

It's a long time since we've needed any assistance but this one has me really stumped so any help would be much appreciated...

We're just in the process of having a Mobile site developed by MoPower and we're almost ready to launch. Before we do, we need to create something which they call Deep Linking which acts as a redirect.

With the basic redirect they've given us, if you were to open our newsletter (or say Google Adwords) on a mobile device and click on one of the links to the site, you'd be redirected to the homepage. This isn't optimal so apparently we can set up mobile redirects for all sections and products. Yay!

However, I have no idea where to start. I would assume it's something like a htaccess file but more complicated? Has anyone come up against anything like this? Any pointers as to what I need to do? Like I say, any assistance would be much appreciated...

You can view the PDF from MoPower explaining what is possible...

    Thanks in advance,

    Amy

      Hi Duncan,

The swine didn't want to attach... I've popped it on our server instead. :-)

It seems the mobile detection requires either Javascript or detection enabled via server side, they also have a htaccess option. It is more involved than help which could be given here. You would need to pass this on to your developer or someone who can configure it on your server. Alternatively it looks like the company who create the mobile site offer a service too.

          Thank you.

          Thanks Peblaco!

To be honest we were so at a loss, we didn't know which way to turn. Lovely Norman Rouxel said they we would be better off talking to a Server person which is what I think we will do.

          Thanks again.
