HI, Thanks Duncan & Jonathan, you are essentially correct.

Ive chatted to Jamie and his e-mail is a little confusing.

What Jamie is saying is that it is our intention that in the next release it will be very possible that new customers to SellerDeck will be able to create a store in hopefully more than one responsive theme. Unfortunately this is currently not the case in V12 (SD2013) however with our help we can upgrade your site and apply the responsive design, as mentioned this is no easy task and one which we charge for based on how long this is likely to take.

I don't believe there is a platform currently that will make your existing site responsive for free and neither can we and it's very unlikely that we will be able to do in the new release, so there will be a bridge to cross at some point if you want a responsive website. Our argument is that the sooner you make your site responsive the sooner you will benefit from Mobile customers.

I just wonder if you would use your own Skeleton design in 2014, or if you would use a sellerdeck responsive theme if redesigning a site.

Just starting that thought process on 2014 and would value your opinion.

My Skeleton based sites all seem to go into v14 OK. For new builds I am trying the Smart and Wireframe but I have tweaked a little to show the mobile menu as a side panel and the phone email and contact icons in mobile view open in FancyBox.
