Hosting providers - your thoughts

I'm generally happy with 1&1, but the recent issue that has still not been resolved is making me nervous, ahead of our busy season.

So I thought I'd ask the community for your thoughts on alternative hosting providers.

I've come across 3 that I want to assess:
- Sellerdeck Hosting
- Teclan: http://www.teclan.com/
- 4SureHosting: http://www.4surehosting.co.uk/

Do any of you have experiences of any of these, good or bad, that you could share please? Or any other providers I should consider?

We use Sellerdeck and also Hansen (http://www.hansenwebdesign.co.uk/), I would recommend them both. I haven't used Teclan's hosting but think that they are a great company and have worked with them often.

I switched from 1&1 to Teclan last month, very pleased with support and performance.

Took 15 years to find him but I have no hesitation in recommending the server service offered by Jonathan Chappell - direct UK phone land line, annual fees of less than the price of a daily newspaper.

Sure other are just as good, but generally get better service from the little guys....

If this is the delay on sending emails, and resultant hanging of the checkout, you should try using Norman's sendmail patch as this solves it.

Sellerdeck Hosting

I changed to www.hispecservers.com from Heartinternet - immediate and striking improvement in page load speed and especially Search function plus Google Analytics shows a significant lift in Conversion rate.

We have a dedicated server with UKFast who position themselves about halfway between Rackspace and the rest, highly recommended

Never used Teclan as ISP but first class service on all the other things they do and experts on Sellerdeck
