Just double-checking but does v2013automatically remove any duplicate content issues for pages when using the SPP and pagination etc

For pagination yes, it is dealt with by default coding, see: Sellerdeck Pagination and Duplicate SEO Content
For SPP that may depend on your setup, the demo store uses the default of a product summary without text leading to a SPP with text. Or some use the product description for a summary and add the extended information description for the SPP page.
