Customer emails not going out via 1and1.co.uk smtp server

hi - has anyone with 1and1 hosting had problems with their smtp network settings today using mrvnet.kundenserver.de? It seems like it last worked about 00:46 this morning

if your on it can you run test and tell me the result please?

They're failing for me too with a "connection refused" response.

This happens where I try using password authentication or not.

Update
Apparently no changes have been made by 1and1 to their server. But I have seen previous posts on this subject where they deny all knowledge even though they have put updates on the server. We shall see, the agent is "checking" their systems.

I have checked firewall settings on my client pc and logins on 1and1 webmail, but they are ok .

They are trying running an SMTP script from our webspace back to their server to see if it is SellerDeck but SD worked ok up until this morning at 00.46 it stopped working on two separate sites.

Any thoughts?

Yep, I'm having the same problem too using mrvnet.kundenserver.de. Although, i thought it was fine this morning.

Its annoying as this situation happens every now and then. I'd just got used to the 20 second long delay and now it doesn't work at all !!

I thought it might have been just me so i'm feeling slightly better that i'm not alone.

Hi Norman,

It might be worth you logging a call with 1and1 as well as helpdesk support priority is probably driven by urgency x no of people impacted x severity, so your issue will help to encourage them to look at this more seriously. It is a tricky one as it is a soft error and you don't know you have got it until customers complain you are not communicating or you run the test yourself.

Thanks Michael for letting me know. Again if you can give them a call and let them know you know other 1and1 customers have this issue it will start to get bigger on their radar screen.

For anyone suffering from this problem then I can highly recommend Norman's sendmail patch.

It's still working and doesn't suffer from the 20s delay.

It seems to be working again for me. Well, from receiving nothing to getting duplicate emails for the same order again....

Yep, same here. All email being sent now and no connections issues. Hope it stays that way.

As if by magic, it is now working and we can again send emails via 1and1 SMTP server.

Note no apology from 1and1.

Case closed, for now.
