    Descriptions Going Missing

    Hi all,

    I have just updated the text description for a product but it wont update in page view and wont publish or refresh.

    Theres one line of text added and it wont actually add ?!?

    Im sure this is a bug that ive reported before.

    Tried searching for my original post but cant find it.

    Edit: now ive got entire descriptions going missing again ! : confused:

    This bug should have been fixed by now !!!

    Come on sellerdeck - sort this out please ! My site is straight out of the box with no mods or plugins.

    And now sellerdeck is crashing on refresh / update........NOT IMPRESSED

      I wish I could find my previous thread on this.

      Will someone from sellerdeck please respond to this, its an old bug that should be fixed by now.

      To test further I have just deleted all the text description of 1 random product then clicked apply, but the text remains !

        Ive got a whole range of new products to add today.

        But I cannot add descriptive text to any of them

        Will someone from sellerdeck please respond, im not waiting for a support ticket on this, its an old bug.

          I've seen a similar problem but with fragments, however that was often fixed by using the Housekeeping menu > Compact database option. As it's only been a few hours this post may not have picked up by someone at SellerDeck support, also the FAQ states "If a thread receives no responses within two working days, then a member of the SellerDeck support team will take a look at the question." If you have an urgent technical problem then you may prefer to give SellerDeck Support a telephone call directly because you would be able to get through to them quicker.

            Thanks for your time replying.

            I will give them a call, I don't have cover but this is a bug that I had at the start of sellerdeck. Its just so frustrating and times are hard and I need to bump up business fast.

            So frustrating that I had a previous thread with fix that I cannot find.

              Gotta say im not impressed a member of sellerdeck support has not answered this here, its a bug and must be affecting loads of users.

                Sellerdeck please respond

                NOT HAPPY

                I have just tried support and after been put on hold twice the call gets disconnected !

                This is a previously reported BUG that I reported when sellerdeck first came out, I don't have cover but that's irrelevant because we shouldn't have to pay for bug fixes.

                Can any of the experienced members help me with this ?

                I think last time sellerdeck fixed this by email, that's why I cannot find a thread on the forums.

                I am desperate to get this bug fixed. At present I cannot add or edit any products.

                  Got through to support, they are hopefully going to fix this but cant say when !

                  Can a moderator please change the title of this thread to "descriptions going missing" im still holding out in the hope that someone might post a fix in this thread.

                  Ive tried compacting the database more times than I want to remember and still no luck.

                  At the moment the software is 'not fit for purpose' I am sooo frustrated and annoyed by this, I have loads of new products to add and need to amend current ones.

                      Have the SellerDeck support team advised what the actual issue is, i.e. if it is a bug what the actual bug description is, is there a reference number, or is it something else like a database or layout problem etc?.

                        Hi,

                        Sellerdeck didn't want to say whether its a bug or not, even though I can assure you it is a bug.

                        I have a ticket number now and they have asked for snapshots which I have sent.

                        This happened to me over a year ago and it had to be fixed, its not user error.

                        If I don't hear anything today, im seriously going to offer money here for a fix.

                          From the screenshot images you attached it seems you could have made a mistake and be looking in the wrong place.

                          1) In the first image "Blank description.jpg" you have clicked on the Content Tree > Craftpax section and shown the section description field as empty.
                          2) In the second image "Old description still showing.jpg", you have clicked on the Craftpax section page preview but you are not viewing the Craftpax section description, the red text shown on the screen would be coming from the fragment called "Craftpax Description" which is inside the Craftpax section. It is showing the fragment above the Card section due to the settings in the software, you can change whether fragments appear above or below sub-sections by using the settings in the Settings menu > Site Options > Layouts > Top / Bottom Sub Section List positions, or individually on a section. Remember that when you are looking at a section it shows the sub-sections and fragments inside that section. If you want to see the section description for Craftpax you have to go up a level and look at the Online Catalogue page.

                              Your right it works thankyou, but why has it all been working so far, for the past year ?
                              The software shouldn't allow it to work at all, when its all been working fine and dandy ?
                              Doesn't give me much confidence.

                              I owe you one peblaco, if theres anything you sell of use to me I will buy it. Just sent you an email through your website.

                              edit: I may have to do a hell of a lot fixing now, I wish the software had blocked me from doing it in the first place - and I still don't understand why it only went wrong yesterday after a year of working. I still see this as a bug, no im not trying to defend myself and I aint putting my hands up saying 'guilty'.
