    Page Preview Not Rendering Properly

    Hi All

Just wondering if anyone else has come across this issue ....

On some of my sellerdeck mini sites - i don't seem to be able see my actually page properly in page preview tab, it loads ok but no css or style-sheets seem to load - the finished pages look fine online.

Really strange thing is on other pc's it works fine?

Im using multi user sellerdeck - users dont seem to have issues just the main pc (the one doing all the design work! typical )

So it must be something on my main pc missing or being blocked - have tried all the usual disabling anti virus and firewalls temporarily but still unable to fix the issue.

    Any help much appreciated

Perhaps linked to the IE version on the machines, are the versions different on the machines in question?

Checked all PC's involved in project and they are all running the same version of Internet Explorer?

All PC's are running on Windows 8.1 Pro with all updates in place

          Totally stumped now!

The only small difference is the PC with the issue runs Office 2013 - could this have some odd effect on preview within the sellerdeck program window?

As Mentioned above we have this issue on our main working site.

We are currently redesigning a site on a different computer which has been rendering fine, up until today that is.

Switch on today and suddenly all rendering has disappeared in the preview pane.

            Any ideas?
            Regards

I have managed to resolve this on the PC that only went wrong today.

I managed to resolve by doing a system restore rolling back 2 days.

The only changes that had been made to the computer in the last day was that Crystal Reports 8.5 had been installed, and some Windows Updates had been applied.

I can only presume that it was something above, probably the updates that caused it.

I have a similar problem on one of my development PC's which like all the others I use runs Windows 7 Professional x64. After running some checks cam to the conclusion it was related to the version of IE explorer installed. On a PC that displays the page preview correctly I find the PC has IE 9 but on the one that does not give a proper page preview I find it is using IE 11.

I checked the preview pages in the DesignPreview folder and found the same problem when using IE11 to display the html pages directly but not if I use Firefox or Opera which display the pages correctly. Essentially IE11 does not appear to load the css files.

I downgraded from IE11 to IE10, but there was no change, so I then downgraded to IE9 and lo and behold, I now have a working version of Selleredeck 2013 with Page preview.

So in my case the problem is the updates from Microsoft.

BTW you cannot find Internet Explorer in the standard uninstall programs page, you need to select View installed updates and then search all the updates for the ones relating to Internet Explorer and uninstall them.

The preview pane in SellerDeck is really only useful for clicking on elements to target specific layouts rather than going through the design tree. Things get even funkier with CDN links or font libraries ... always best to preview externally in your browers of choice.

One very good app is Adobe Edge Inspect which updates your mobile / tablet devices with the view on the main PC browser ... perfect when developing responsive designs.

Agreed, I prefer to check all pages in an external browser but not being able to see the pages in any usable form was getting to me.

Can you go to 'Settings | Site Options | Layout' and try changing the 'Embedded Preview Compatibility' to IE=9 and see if that makes the site visible?

On my machine it was already set to IE=9, internet explorer was clearly not honoring the setting when I had IE10 or IE11 installed.

Windows re-installed IE10 overnight and the preview is gone again, setting is IE=9, OS is Win7 x64, IE is for 64bit windows.

So this setting does not work in all cases, removing IE10 again.
