I switched from 1and1 - went to another - now back with a trusted registra, but only temporarily.
Unfortunately my IPS tag is locked to the second company I used a couple of days ago - really shocked they are not helping me, they helped me bucket loads with sd ftp until they pointed out sd does not do sftp yet.
I have asked them politely 3 times to change the Tag but they wont answer the question. Happy to answer any other questions though.
This is now with my other registra, I did everything in 1and1 cpanel correctly, left 1and 1 for good. Then went to new registra / host and transferred tag successfully from 1and1 to them, im now trying to leave 2nd host / registra and they have hit me with the 60 days ICANN rule. I now have to keep domain and space with them for 60 days, but can only use their basic server cos all there other servers are strict SFTP only.
I intend ending up in 60 days time with domain parked at freeparking.co.uk and space probably with sd hosting.
Thanks everyone for your time, I really hope other new users of sd get some help from my last 3 threads.

Do I have the law on my side with this ?
Kind regards,

Michael,
You are not alone in getting confused about the difference between transferring domain ownership and domain administration and the differences in these processes for the various TLD's (top level domains).
For .uk domains, however, you do have direct recourse in this issue with Nominet. Your current Registrar (who the UK domain is tagged to) work in a 3-way legal agreement between you, themselves and Nominet. This means you, as the domain's legal owner, can get in touch with Nominet and they are obliged to act on your behalf i.e. the can expidite a change of IPS tag of your domain name on your behalf.
I'd recommend you give Nominet a call for your .co.uk domains. They are a non-profit body and their customer server team are knowledgeable and very helpful.
Registrations and transfers of .com, .net, .info, .eu etc is another matter entirely............
My nice registra, freeparking have told me about this.
To be honest ive had migraines over this lot in the past week and im just going to let them hold the domain and server for the 60 days required, their support has been excellent I just wish I could use their sftp cpi comliant server.
but im having a two hour lunch break first, my last 3 problems have been so stressful. I really feel like throwing in the towel and closing my business and getting a job with another printer.
