SellerDeck 2014 Beta alongside SellerDeck 2013

Hi,

Is it possible to have SellerDeck 13 running as normal alongside the SellerDeck 14 Beta?
I'm curious about trying out SellerDeck 14 without harming any of my current websites.

You can install it on the same computer, but make sure you have backups first and don't select the option to upgrade older versions. You may need to uninstall the 2014 beta after testing however the instructions on the beta download page are unclear - it has two conflicting messages saying you may not / will be able to upgrade the beta to a production release, SellerDeck should clarify that.

I was told by my SellerDeck account manager a couple of weeks ago that it is safe to start on a site in the v14 beta and it will upgrade to the production release OK. Do so at your own risk though.

You are correct it is confusing.

Currently it depends on what version of the Public Beta you have.

If you are using the one that was given out at the conference; this will not upgrade.

If you are using the publically available one (downloadable now) then this will.

Is there a way to extend the life of the beta installation? I downloaded it earlier this month then uninstalled it almost immediately. Reinstalled today and it says it expires on the 31st October?

I asked support about it earlier, they guy said he'd get back to me but didn't, I'll chase it up tomorrow.

Best to call SD and ask for a later build if there's one available - IIFC I think the latest beta was set to expire on 31 Oct, rather than a duration.
