tick box for please select resetting to yes

Using Business Plus 2013 12.05 the tick boxes on components for include "please select" in choices keep resetting to the ticked state after they have been set to no tick. This seems to happen after editing the items. I can't see any parent setting that would cause these to default or switch back to the ticked setting. Once reset manually I can upload and run site without problem, till I edit again and they reset . Its the fact that you have to keep resetting them on 100 or more items !
