Hi
Our Actinic/Sellerdeck site has been up and running for 5 years using Catalogue and last year we upgraded to Business.
We chose Actinic originally as much of the content and text of the site would be picked up automatically without us carrying out any SEO work at all.
This has worked successfully in the past this due mainly to us selling product where only say up to 20 others would be selling the same items.
Over the years our business has grown by adding additional products but these are more common items where many hundreds or thousands of others are selling.
We have done absolutely nothing to date with regard to SEO but is now time to make changes to ensure our SEO is as good as it can be on our site.
Unless you know what you are doing it appears to be a minefield of differing opinions but would like to start from the front with a clean sheet of paper.
From what I can find there are 3 settings in our software which will affect how the site performs with search engines.
1. Page Title
2. Page Name
3. Meta Description
Page Title
In Page Settings, Page Title. up to 65 characters of Keywords as text below. Lower/Uppercase not relevant?
LED floodlight | 30w Floodlight | Cool White Floodlight | etc.
Page Name
In Page Settings, Page Name. up to 65 characters of Keywords as text below all in lowercase?
LED Light-30w Circular Light- 30w White Light-etc
Meta Description
In General Panel of brochure pages and details panel of sections.
Max 150 characters.
And that is as far as we got to starting.
My question is, is this the right place to start from, when this is complete we then go onto other things, or are we heading in the wrong direction?
Thank You.
Duncan Jones
