Passing the product section information to the checkout and order email

hi I would like to pass the section name or sub section name to the checkout area alongside the products in the cart. Is this possible or can it just append the last sub section the product lies in?

for example using all appended sections:

General>Pens>Ball Tip Pen 0.5mm
General>Rubber>Pencil Rubber
Misc>Cleaning>Bleach

or with last section:

Pens>Ball Tip Pen 0.5mm
Rubber>Pencil Rubber
Cleaning>Bleach
