Sub menus not showing on phone

Trying to get to grips with 2014. Thought it looked OK on Desktop and iPad, had a look at the homepage on my phone and it displays differently, you have to click on the categories button. This gives the main headings that are normally shown in the menu along the top, but picking one doesn't bring up the submenus, so there is no way for customers to see what subsections and products are below it.

I must have missed a setting somewhere, SellerDeck can't have designed it to be like that.

Also th search box, which is displayed near the top is enormous on the phone, yet you can only type in a tiny part on the right near the search button. Customers are natural going to try to type in the left of the box.

As 75% of my customers use phones as their main device, I need to sort this out.

    Any suggestions appreciated.

By default when the screen size is 800 pixels or less which includes many tablet computers and mobile / smart phones the mega menu switches to a simple drop down menu which only shows the top level sections.

Hi peblaco, thanks once again for replying to one of my queries.

I have just noticed that if I click on the menu on a PC desktop it also takes me to a blank page. I had not noticed this before, obviously I have been hovering and the submenu comes up, I then click on a choice and happily arrive at the product. So the desktop view is behaving the same.

Have I simply missed out a basic step in my section and subsection creation? Maybe I need to ensure each subsection has a thumbnail? I may not have got around to that yet.

I would have thought that directly clicking on a menu in the menu bar would populate the page that comes up with submenu titles or links

Oh yes the phone is a Windows Lumia 640

I think I have found my problem for the desktop at least. I need to turn on Responsive Subsection List for the top menu section. Dont know why this would be off by default.EDIT:

      Thanks again

When you said phone menu Categories I assumed you meant the mobile menu. However then you said PC desktop so I understand you did not mean the menu but sections in the central area. You can check the Design Library layouts for Sub section lists or revert them to factory settings.

          categories

Glad it is working, I felt the new responsive categories + was a bit limiting so I added a fragment with a simple link to the full listing....
