Network Drives do not show in Sellerdeck v14 with Windows 10

Just got a brand new machine.

    Windows 10.

    Sellerdeck 14

Connected to our network just fine. Mapped my network drives as per other machines.

I can see the network drives. eg Y:\sites

Choosing SITES DIRECTORY in Sellerdeck - Y: does not appear.

I can see the drive in other programs, eg. MS Word.

    Any ideas ?

    Is the disk shared?

They are Mapped Drives, so there is no "sharing" as such.

I’ve gotten to the bottom of it – it’s a Windows 8 upwards problem related to UAC.

There’s a problem where a mapped drive created for a user does not appear in software that’s being ran with administrator privileges as it uses a different ID token.

Basically, you have to map the drives twice – once for the user (so My Computer, Map Network Drive etc.) and then a second time from an elevated command prompt using a net use command, for example:

        net use x: \\mm-datacentre\sites13

the software can then see the mapped drive, and you can also see it.

What a pain – apparently it is possible to remedy this by turning UAC off, but I have not tried it.

Mega thanks rookers! This problem bugged me for ages... in the end our Win8 machines had to use the UNC paths

Switching off UAC did not work on our Win8 machines. The extra entry in the cmd prompt got it showing in Sellerdeck!
