    Multi Users on Multi Site

I have business plus with a few sites and am considering adding another license to have a second user but have a few questions.

    1) Will I pay for just 1 license across all sites, or will it be 1 license per site?

    2) Can different users work on different sites at the same time, or is just the site that is currently loaded?

    3) Can 2 users work on the same site at the same time?

    4) Anything I've missed, restrictions etc?

Would appreciate any views from the forum before I speak to sales.
    Regards

The additional users all access the same database so that implies only one site open at a time. Multi user is designed with record locking so more than one user can access order processing etc, not sure about design.

As for licensing as I understand it you pay per user as each user is using the same site at any one time.

      1) One licence per machine/user is my understanding.

      2) Not 100% sure about the multi site option, I believe I have had different people logged on to different sites at the same time. I'll check on this on a live version for you and get back.

      3) Yes two users can work on the same site at the same time, but you can split tasks, so have order processors who do not see any of the design side at all. I have had two content design people working at the same time on the same site but it is best if you keep away from each other in the content tree in my experience. There is record locking though so in theory you can't both edit the same ref or order at the same time.

We have four concurrent users on one site. Which I believe is the accepted limit for multi user now.

      4) Biggest pain for me is not being able to use drag and drop when more than one person is logged on. So if I have to move a section or product in the tree I have to do it when the other 3 users are off.

4 users, on windows 7 machines across gigabit network, it can get slow on opening but it does work.
