Images not central and grey area top and bottom

I have just started working on a new site today in v 14.0.3. I am trying to get to grips with the change from my old software (7.03) but I have a few questions I hope someone can help me with. I am using Classic Responsive theme, although Themes shows me as using advanced settings.

    1. I cannot centralise any images, the keep drifting. This goes whether section images or fragments.
    2. I have two grey areas on the background, one at the very tope and one at the bottom. I can't see any way to change this colour. I attach an image showing these first two points.
    3. How do I change the colours of certain elements, for example the top header.
    4. How can I change the layout of elements in the header and footer. There are new variables I am not familiar with.
    5. How can I add the site map to my menu? It's nowhere to be seen.

The block command is an odd one. What are we blocking?? It's everywhere.

Is there a template manager? I can see how I can access the basket and checkout pages.

Sorry for so many questions, to be honest I wasn't expecting to be doing the site myself. Thanks so much.

Welcome to the new way of designing Sellerdeck sites (since V8). The advanced settings allow you to modify the standard theme, for example changing the colours used. Be careful as the selections can have some unexpected results due to the way they are used in the theme. You can make further colur choices by directly editing the Stylesheet (click the Current Stylesheet button).

1/ You will have to design your own layout to do this, you will need a knowledge of css and media queries.

2/ You can change these areas but it is not easy, I work with firebug with firefox browser to find the relevant css code. You could also use the developer tools in Google Chrome.

3/ By editing the style sheet, use the tools in 2/ to find the areas involved.

4/ by editing the layouts for the header and footer, some of the text comes from variables and is usually found in text under the Design menu.

5/ Site map is accessed from the drop down which appears when the Design tab is selected which shows 'Content Page' by default.

The block command has a number of options such as a block of PHP code or a Section List, it is used to introduce a number of different 'blocks' of code. 'Block If' is the block that prevents code from being included in a page unless certain conditions are met.

Try the drop down list, that appears when Design is selected on the central menu, which displays current page by default, all the other pages can be accessed from this list.

What happened to "image only" in fragments?

No longer one of the standards, you can produce one in the Design Library, copy one of the existing layouts for images, rename it to 'Image Only' and delete the text and title from the layout.

You can add your own css class to the layout and then set up the styling you want for this layout under the Current Stylesheet.

            Hi Malcolm,
Yes I did that, but despite setting it to align "center" it continues to ignore. It's interesting because if I set up the image manually by writing html in the fragments text area it still veers to the side.

Without seeing the code it is difficult to give a complete answer but that sounds like a css float, possibly from a class still attached to the layout or in the parent layout. I use google chrome developer tools, for firebug in firefox to examine pages to see which css styles are affecting a specific item.

I checked that out and it was fine. The only way I can centralise the image is to choose the carousel layout with one image only. Otherwise it just won't stay put.

Couldn't get that to work at all. All images still float to the left. In fact the section images do as well.

I can't get any images to align centrally. I thought Actinic v7.03 was difficult to modify, v14.03 is far far worse. Can't even do the simple things! Sellerdeck support won't help, even though I have cover.
                      Kind Regards

I am quite surprised no one else has mentioned this, it's quite a major thing. I am having some silly problems with v14.03. I have upgraded from v7 now and right up until v13 everything was fine. I wonder why Sellerdeck decided to remove a lot of the good elements from the software.

Are there anyone who are using v14 03 who have overcome the problem with the fragments? There are other concerns but I'll put them in another thread.

                        Many thanks
