    Filtering

I can't get my head around this... Is there a how-to guide on setting this up?

The only thing I found on this from Sellerdeck is from the "Sellerdeck 2013 Reviewers Guide"

I've been through all the Advanced Guides and can't find anything on filters.

Your link is to the .com site which lists upto 2013 advanced guide

The .co.uk site has the 2014 advanded guide
      http://www.sellerdeck.co.uk/index.ph...gory/documents

The only document I found had filters, is this:
      http://www.sellerdeck.com/documentat...s_Guide_v2.pdf

I will load up the site1 this weekend and try to understand it there...

There are some basics in the help tab in the software, but it is beyond me (as usual)

Yes, there is a page in the help... I'll go through that also.

Is there more than 1 way to filter?
          - I kind of see filtering by product attributes, and I see "Product Properties"
          - does filtering only works with products that have attributes?

It teaches you how to set up a new variable and apply that in your design. See page 13/14 for example, you can then use that to filter. Once you have the variables you need you can set up filtering. Look at the example provided in the " necklace" section.

              Thanks Karen

So I'll set up a new variable and then it should appear on the product,
and then I can filter on the variable.

              I'll give that a-go

                One more question...

If I manage to set this all up, did an export, and then did a hierarchical Import
(to a fresh responsive design - no more bits of old themes etc),
would the variable information be lost?

Great, I got it kind of working... but noticed something odd.

Is there anything known problems with filters?

I currently have two variables that does not show up on the site's filters
                  - if I F5 the site, I can briefly see it and then it is gone/hidden

Entering of filter variables on products...

Okay, I now have 1000s of products to update data for the filters...
                    - doing it on Sellerdeck will take forever...

What is the best way to do this?

I've tried export > edit > import (hierarchical) : but I seem to always get errors (even on export to file, then import the same file without editing it)

Can it be done by flat file import?
                    - I did give it a go, Row 1 = Header:Product, Row 2+ = Product
but the filter variables all had "?" and no option to map it...
Is there something I've done wrong here?

Otherwise, can I edit directly on the mdb file?
