Has anyone managed to integrate an automatic sign up in the checkout for MailChimp?

I have found several posts from a few years ago but none seemed to have a resolution.

We have it on our main page here, in the left hand bar :

but not in our checkout

Is that because you couldn't get it to work in the checkout, or just didn't choose to persue that route.

Hi James,

I wanted it on the front page so that people could subscribe to the list without having to buy something.

I will now check that I have a join mailing list in the checkout as well though :-)
