    importing customer data

I plan to transfer customer details from another system and have prepared a flatfile for this. But I'm not clear where one can import this. The import of 'orders and customers' requires a db file. I've often imported products to this software using a csv flatfile, but the system doesn't show the customer detail fields when you coem to match the fields.

    Any suggestions ?

I would recommend that you manually set up a few accounts then export them.
Open that file in Excel and you will see the format of the file.

Add your additional accounts into the Excel file and import them back.

Remember to backup before making any changes.

Thanks for that - that produces a hierarchical file which I can work on.

        Importing Custommer Data

We have looked at this in some detail and we have also created a process for creating the product hierarchy import (parent child, size colour from a flat file into a hierarchical import. 10,000 lines takes about 30 minutes to process)

If you drop us a line about what you need we should be able to look at this for you or give you our findings at least to make a call on viablilty etc
