Stock control with new version 16.0.1

Hi

Can anyone please direct me to where I can learn how to add stock control for different choices within an attribute. From the update email point 3 says this is now available without hidden products but I cant work it out or find where to enter the stock value for each choice in the attribute. Did a search in the sellerdeck software but nothing came up.

You need to set up a Component and then look on the Permutations tab where there are now columns for Stock Controlled and Stock In Hand. Their column headings are hard to read but they're in the order mentioned above.

Thank you that sorted it out. So from previous updates where I had to take all the components out now I will have to re-add components to all my products that have choices in the attributes for stock control (head in hand and sigh!)

Hi Rondie, how were you controlling stock with hidden products if you had removed your components?

I wasn't using hidden products. I used to delete products that were out of stock from the choice option then re-add them as they were available. I found the whole hidden product thing a lot of work for a few hundred stock items and looked messy on my sellerdeck software as well as confusing

Ah, sorry, I misunderstood.

I don't know how many components/permutations you need to add but if it's a huge job then we could adapt our Product Builder plug-in to just create components and permutations for products that require it, without creating the hidden products. Let me know if this might be useful for you.
