Sellerdeck 16 slow slow slow

We have found Sellerdeck 16 so slow it is unusable, it adds 10 seconds to the refresh time for every item in the basket.

1 item 10 seconds and Yes 5 items in the basket pushed it to 51 seconds from clicking view basket to it being dislayed.

Anyone had any joy in solving this problem

What image size are your products?

We Use Fixed width of 600px wide x whatever the height works out at and aim for about 10-20kb per image

If it's this site www.burstingwithhealth.co.uk then it's working fine for me. Maybe it's your internet which is slow slow slow.

If it is bursting with health then it works very quickly for me too.

Only thing I would say is that you've set Shopping Mode to be Quantity On Confirmation Page - it's an unusual way of doing it..... it certainly confused me when adding items to the basket

Slow slow slow fixed

No that wasn't the site, that does run very quickly as do all the sites on the server, which is why it was annoying when supprt said the server was 'misconfigured'

After 2 weeks of arguing and getting log dumps from the server etc etc. Some fo the staff have a very limited understanding of permissions, I'm no expert but I have a basic grasp.

It came back to something the hosting company had stated right from the start. A script was pausing for 10 seconds.

It paused for 10 seconds for every item in the basket, so 5 items.... yes 50 seconds pause. That's a long time.

Sellerdeck then sent me a log more in tit for tat than to be helpful and even I could see the file that was being accessed in a count down loop 10 times, at 1 second intervals.... Come on Sellerdeck, really you didn't see that. Chmod the file... sorted.

I even gave them the fix though I doubt it will be given freely to anyone else who may have the problem.
