    Multiple Administrators

    Hello,

Can we have multiple Administrators editing/managing Sellerdeck concurrently? We have two user licenses, but cannot seem to login as Admin at the same time (even though both user accounts are set up as Administrators).

Apologies if this question has been asked before. I have searched Google and the forums here but could not find a solution.

I think if you make a new user and select Content processor then you may both be able to edit

Sorry not tried it but think it works

Thanks for your reply Chris! I think we can both add content, but we can't edit the design/layout or publish/take a snapshot (backup) which are all administrator privileges.

Is there no way to have two Administrators working on SellerDeck at the same time?

Actually, just noticed I can't even import data unless I am logged in as an Administrator. This defeats the whole purpose of having two user licenses.

Why can't we have 2 admins logged on with two user licenses? Is this not a possibility in general, or is it an issue just for me?

          licences

I think it is how the licences are designed. We have the same issue and it wont let more than one admin log in.

Its a pain, but you can split the work accordingly i.e. one person updates the site, everyone updates content.

But is it worth the extra cost of the licence and corresponding support costs? I can't argue for that I am afraid. I am considering downsizing licences.

The main purpose is that all additional licences can operate the whole order process and have access to all data

You can give different people rights like admin but only one admin can be logged in at any time to get the admin rights

So for instance you can make two log in details for each person say
            Fred 1 with admin rights
            Fred 2 with order processing

            Steve 1 with admin
            Steve 2 with Order processing

That way if one wants to say add a new product they log in as admin and the other then as order processor or the other way round but not both as admin

Why as a matter of interest do you want both logged into admin it would easily in some cases cause problems

Thank you very much for your replies!

I must say I am surprised to hear that multiple Administrators option isn't a feature. The reason why we need this is because, we have to add thousands of products and need more than one person to be able to Import data. On top of that, taking a snapshot, or publishing etc, take a very long time as well, so we don't want to have to wait for these processes to be completed before we can continue to import more data.

We don't need to change the design at the same time... but, our admins should be working on different sections at the same time (importing from Excel concurrently), and that is why we really need multiple Administrators.

You know you can import a file into the correct sections in one go

But we are working on different Manufacturers, so the data we're importing will have to be uploaded separately.

If i was you I would contact Andy at codepath.com who is a expert in transferring data from either excel or access into Sellerdeck

But a hieratical upload of things like
Ref No, Maker, Short Description, Long description, Image location, size, Colour, Weight etc is relatively easy even if you then have to sort out some attributes
