Obtain full list of product files in excel

I wanted to be able to change all variables to fill in data for shoping in adwords and came up with this solution that may help others as it puts all product date in a easily managed excel file

First export your catalog file to say desktop

Delete the first three lines so that original line 4 is now on line one

Delete New line 3 to line with Product in column A

Move to first line showing Product should be new line 2 and insert a new line

Place cursor on new empty line 2 and select Data |Filter, this will make the whole row 2 fill up with pull down menu's

On Row 2 pull down the list in A2 and select only Products

You now have a list of all the products

Select column B and remove duplicates Data| Remove duplicates,

Copy file and save as a new file

Open new file and delete line 2

You now have a excel file that you can delete non required columns to your hearts content, Amend any columns including prices , variables etc

When happy just import a hierarchical file using pre set options

Did you also notice that your product variables were probably on the very right hand side of the filtered list as well?

Yes that's what i was after but lost the will to live at first real look at the exported file, but after sifting through it seemed a far easier way to amend the site than doing every product individually

So simple and effective, wish i had delved into it 14 years ago

I keep line 1 "Version"

- I stumbled on "Importing From A Hierarchical File" in Sellerdeck's help file
- could be significant, so I keep it in.
