Viewing on an iPad

Is it possible to reduce the width of the content are when just viewed at the resolution of a standard ipad?

I find that on an ipad the right side bar is pushed under the content as the content is too wide. If I adjust the width of the content, then this shows a lot of white space on a pc.

So what I'm after is a way to reduce the pixels, or percent of the content to stop the right bar being pushed down.

Any ideas ?
