    EU tax zone

Slightly in response to the release yesterday of the 18.6 version and bug fix and real world scenarios
    • Enabled creation of additional taxes for different zones when prices are entered tax-inclusive, SD-8379
We are looking at Delivered Duty Paid including the new Royal Mail service as our main option for shipping to Europe to prevent customers having to do the customs clearance and tariffs.

The difficulty here is then that there will be 10 different vat rates in use, from what I can see, ranging from 17 to 27%. This might change post July when the OOS system starts to kick in when it may be able to register in Ireland say and then use the OOS to shift the Vat requirements around to each country.

I just wanted to check with Bruce if there were any issues that Sellerdeck could foresee with creating so many zones. There will also have to probably be individual shipping zones for each country to deal with different courier rates combined with different vat zones.

Below is a link to the individual country rates.

No issues that I'm aware of. In fact we already recommend something like this approach for selling digital downloads, which have to be charged at the tax rate of the shopper's own country: https://community.sellerdeck.com/for...ital-downloads

For physical sales to the EU it's probably easier to create a zone for each tax rate, rather than one per country.

I have used Sellerdecks implementation of tax for digital downloads across the 27 euro zones since 2015, and after the initial setup, its not too frightening. You do need to be able to extract the orders with the tax rates. Sellerdeck Link does this well, even if the link program is still a bit glitchy (not on the tax side - just with the sellerdeck link programme resetting its shipping nominal codes for sage).

If you are multi site, I would recommend you set it up fully once, then to a basic setup for he other site profiles so they exist in the database, then copy the primary site table records in TaxAdvMore into in a spreadsheet and then create the other profiles, then paste back into the access Export.mdb database. It saves on stupid errors like capitals or spaces with everything be the same across all the platforms. i did it manually the first time, only later spotting minor differences which later had an impact.
