Quantity on product page

I have long forgotten how to change the quantity box from appearing on the product, it is only needed in the cart, is it still possible to remove from the product in v18?

Hi Ed, The help section is your friend. This is for 18.0.6 so it might be worth checking on whatever versions you're using.

Changing The Shopping Mode

The 'Shopping Mode' of a page determines where the online customer will enter the quantity of a product that they want. Also, if you have filled in either the 'Date' or 'Other Info' prompts for a product (see Product Questions and Prompts) then the shopping mode will control where these appear as well.

The global shopping mode for the entire store is set in 'Design | Design Options'.

The options available are:
· Quantity on Product Page - the customer will enter the quantity before pressing the 'Add To Cart' button.
· Quantity on Confirmation Page - a page will be displayed on which the customer can enter the quantity and then they click 'Confirm' to add the product to the cart.
· Quantity in Shopping Cart - the shopper is taken directly to the shopping cart with their selected product added. The customer can change the quantity here if they need to.
· If Quantity on Product Page is selected then there is a further option, Single Add to Cart Button per Page, which allows the customer to enter a quantity for all the products on the page that they want, before pressing a single 'Add To Cart' button. All the products will be added to the cart in one go.
Note: If you have ticked 'Request Location Information Early' in 'Business Settings | Ordering', then you not have any options for shopping mode. You will only be able to use 'Quantity on Confirmation Page'.

Different Shopping Modes for Different Sections

You can override the global shopping mode for a particular section. You do this within the 'Page Settings' panel of the section.
Within the 'Shopping Mode' area, de-select 'Use Parent Settings' and then select the shopping mode you want for this section. This shopping mode will also be used for any sub-sections within this section that have 'Use Parent Settings' selected.

Sadly it removed the quantity box from the product page, looked great but...doing so very oddly changed product text size in section and added text that was not there, sadly had to revert it! Another sellerdeck anomaly

That is weird isn't it. It's just a section of code controlled by a blockif so it shouldn't change anything outside of showing / removing the quantity box.

Having said that, I tried adding a quantity box to one of my product pages and it threw up some coding errors and messed up the layout after the product. The code is clearly not as innocuous as it should be.

It made product names in sections huge and cut off as well as adding some text from the product price, ruined the section view.
