Prerequisites installer 18.2.3 hanging (Pre requisites)

Has anyone had this?

Running Setup_Sellerdeck_v18_18.2.3.0_YBLA.exe and after saying yes to each window the Prerequisites installer hangs.

Already has 18.2.2

vrdist installed

Any thoughts?

I restarted in Safe Mode and started the installer but it would not run in Safe Mode.

I rebooted to do a registry key so I could run the installer in safe mode from CMD but on restart the SD installer gunned into life on its own and completed the install!

Key thing was once the SD installer gunned into life it started running the desktop messenger installer although previously that option was ticked but greyed out.

PS - For info: How to run the windows installer in safe mode:

Safe Mode

Type this in a command prompt and hit Enter:

REG ADD "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SafeBoot\Minimal\MSIServer" /VE /T REG_SZ /F /D "Service"

Then start the Windows Installer service by typing:

net start msiserver

Normally when you see this behaviour from the installer it is because VC++ is not installed on the machine. We normally see it on brand new machines.

If you see this again, try manually installing the file. Please use the following link: -

http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...redist_x86.EXE

to download the required file, and install it.

Once you have done this, run the Sellerdeck software installer again and there should be no issue.

How have you found the upgrade? We have had a LOT of issues. Printing, labels, moto payments, crashes, shipping - so many bugs.

I have found it OK but I just do design, I do not run a site operationally.

It does overwrite the .rpt files (it tells you during the upgrade) so you may need to copy them back in or compare with Crystal Reports (https://crystalreports.co.uk/)

Payment issues are for support I am afraid.
