    Loading Speed for SQL Sites

We had serious lag problem when switching to SQL on v16.03

The lag was significantly reduced in a special v16.04 build

    2.2.3 Performance
    · Improved site opening and order loading speed for SQL sites.
Is it even faster on v18?

    Hi Tak,

16.0.4 has bugs with SQL environments with large numbers of products, SD released us 16.0.5 which fixes memory leaks.

    Contact support for the version.

We were the guinea pigs for this one... can say that the fixes work though.

Memory usage is reduced by 2/3rds.

      Hi Matt

Thanks for that. I did notice v16.05 in the support page...

I felt like we were the guinea pigs on v16.04
version 16.04 RHBC = was bugged for us
version 16.04 RGVB = worked for us.

One of our sites has just a little over 6000 products, but checking the memory usage... currently sqlservr.exe = 2,410,836K (2.4Gb mem)

Task Manager shows it's using 9.48Gb / 16Gb... there's nothing else in the Process list that can make up the ~7Gb... we might have a problem afterall...

        Hi Tak,

The software(local client) will stop working anywhere after 3.2gb memory usage due to 32bit limitations.

We found with circa 75-80 fields of external linked data that each product was using 300-330kb RAM, leaving us at having no more than 7,800 products available on site before memory leaks killed our uploads.

We now have circa 14,000 products on www.columnradiators4u.co.uk and the software is just about usable on 16.0.5

Upload takes anywhere from 150 minutes > 300 minutes.

I'd recommend installing 16.0.5 - copy any modified JS files and compare changes before you do so. Don't allow any templates either.
