email in v10 checkout

Does anyone know in the v10 checkout if the process with sending the order confirmation email has changed.

Up til now, the checkout would pause to send the email prior to bouncing to PSP. It isnt always possible to tell where the delay is as sometimes it would be the email and other times it would be the psp.

v10 eliminates the PSP bounce page in most cases, but as far as I am aware there is no particular change to the sending of the confirmation email.
