    Path to Perl problems

    Hi everyone

    I'm new to Actinic and have just downloaded the trial.

    I have a server with UKFast. I've tried to install the catalog demo onto our server, and have used to correct ftp details, path to cgi-bin etc. However when it comes to the perl installation, it cannot find the correct location. I've called UKFast and they say the path to perl is D:\perl. However when I type this in, or simply /perl, I get an error "An error occurred while sending an HTTP request to the web server. Perhaps your network is down or the web server is down."

    Any ideas?

      Thanks for you prompt reply. However I couldn't find anything on the forum about this specific problem.

      If anyone else could shed light on my problem that would be great.

        If you are being told the path to perl is d:/perl then i suspect you are on a windows server.

        Have you searched for help on network settings for windows servers?

        it is worth saying 99.9% of actinic users are on unix/linux - is there a specific reason for windows?

          We use a windows server as many of our websites use ASP.NET.

          I will look into sorting out a Linux server for testing.
