Actinic v10 reviewed in August edition of PCPro magazine

Just recieved this coming months version of PCPro, and on Page 128, of this edition, PCPro reviews the Actinic Business v10 edition,

Bottom line:

Unless live stock or the ability to offer customer feedback are features you've been waiting for, there's little new here to justify the cost of an upgrade, if however you have Actinic Cover, the upgrade is free, and we reccommend you take advantage . Likewise if your'e considering Actinic for your business for the first time, it remains a strong and well featured product

The latest release of the popular Actinic e-commerce package addresses a couple of long-standing issues with a revamped checkout procedure and support for real-time stock control.

The ability to capture customer feedback and display a list of recently viewed items are similarly useful enhancements. The user interface, however, remains more or less the same, while little else has changed and pricing remains the same.

For new buyers it's a no-brainer and existing customers with Actinic Cover can upgrade for free, but others will need to weigh up whether the new features are worth the additional outlay.

Pros: Streamlined checkout procedure; automated real-time stock control; recently viewed items display; customer feedback and review option; credit card number shredder

Cons: Feefo feedback service is a chargeable extra

Actinic v10 features - Verdict
No big changes in how Actinic works or is managed in this release. That said, automated real time stock control is a welcome addition and the checkout revamp a much needed improvement. You also get to show shoppers recently viewed items and gather feedback, albeit via a chargeable third party service, further enhancing this already very capable e-commerce solution.
