Can you disable Thumbnail Image checks +

I don't use actinic to upload my images but to get the cart image working in my site I've just placed the Image name in via the back end db.

Problem is that if I have change a products details I've got to delete the thumbnail and reimplement it via the db again else I get "The Selected image does not exist" message.

So is it possible to stop actinic checking the validity of the images paths or is it hard coded in?

Why can't you apply the thumbnail image directly to the product, why the need to go into the database?
