Checkout content not secure

Hi,

Uploaded my site and everthing seems to be fine but when I get to the checkout page and I get a security warning that parts of the page are unsecure.

Had a check with firefox and all my images seem to start with https... does anyone know what else the problem might be and how to go about fixing it?

URLs coded non-relatively is usually the problem, scrap using SSL is the best fix, they're more trouble than they're worth.

We use actinic payments anyway for the actual transaction, would it be better to turn off the SSL for the initial checkout pages? I always think customers are eager to see the padlock as soon as they start the checkout process but maybe its only needed for the actual payment....

Is there any other alternative?

If you want to keep SSL, as you say some shoppers want to see it, you need to look again at the insecure error message to determine what is still prefixed http

For me it causes more trouble than it saves, as you are perfectly illustrating. The security fears it is supposed to allay, are too often the ones they actually cause. Simply not worth it IMO, a PSP with SSL switched off is what every one of my customers do, even the top ones with 100+ orders a day. SSL IMO is dead and not needed.

ah ok well fair enough i guess, personally i'd rather scrap having GC but i am without question an SSL hater, even the biggest companies in the country make mistakes with it on their sites.

Best thing to help track these down, is take items off the page, for instance your facebook stuff would be a prime one to try. Remove all exterior graphics etc. (just comment them out, so easy to restore) and slowly introduce them seeing which one is the culprit. It's often easier that way than the needle in haystack approach.

It's your Google Ad Services code inserting a 1 x 1px image, presumably for tracking. I'm guessing they can supply you with a secure version of the image if you check the website

and i was just about to give up after removing each image and getting nowhere!!

How can I get to this piece of code? Not sure which page to edit, or is it something I change through analytics?

Just to say that I've upgraded our last site to an SSL on checkout as we get so many people on the phone saying ' I can't see the padlock (and no matter how you explain it they want to see one as soon as they enter their address). I kept getting errors on the cert saying not all items are secure (I checked the images in firefox etc) and it was the postcode anywhere link. Took me ages to find it in the pagesource but I do remember if from last time too. You need to locate the postcode anywhere url and change it to https.

Checkout content not secure

Hi,

We got around the problem by using a new layout for the checkout pages, this way we have all https pages the rest of the site uses another layout which is purely http for speed. Works well.
