Number of Products Per Page / Product Sorting

I am working on improving the overall user experience on our site www.s1k1.co.uk, especially on section pages that display a lot of products. Ideally we would like to allow the user to select the number of products to display per page and then click on a link to go to page 2, 3 etc.

I know from experience, and much trawling through the forum, that this is a function that Actnic does not serve well. However, I have seen a couple of very good sites (that I believe were created using Actinic) that are managing to do exactly what we are looking for:

    http://www.buyit247.com/laptops/grad...on&dir=asc

    http://www.econo-group.com/econo-med...w=&sort=&rpp=4

I can see how you could do this manually by creating sections of the different variants, but I would imagine this would quickly become very unmanageable.

I can't find any threads in the forum on how this functionality was achieved and have trawled the internet to see if anyone is offering it as a plug-in, but have not found anything.

I would be very grateful for any help.

Page Index here from Teclan may help: http://www.teclan.com/acatalog/Free_..._Plug-ins.html

Many thanks for the very quick reply!

I came across the Teclan Page Index whilst going through the forum and wondered if this was a development of this plug-in. Does anyone know if this is the case?

Having looked at the html behind the the Teclan demo page and the other sites I don't think they are created using the Teclan method.

The two example links you posted don't look like Actinic sites so I doubt they are developed from that plugin.

That's a pitty, I came accross the first site whilst looking at the following thread:

            http://community.actinic.com/showthr...w.buyit247.com

I think the second site came up in a thread on the Teclan page.

I think you are correct, the shopping cart does not look like an Actinic one.
