v10 stock levels transferring to Sage Line 50

    Hi,

We are having problems with our stock control, we used to run an excel spreadsheet manually, but now have all stock controlled in Actinic V10.

Basically we ideally want to be able to see whats in stock, what items are low in stock and what items have sold out of stock in 3 simple reports. However, we have about 300 products and some products have 2 or 3 product options, all are stock enabled. For example, we sell many types of baseball gloves that come in left hand or right hand catch and we want to know quantities in an easy printable format. The reports in actinic show master options and then the individual options and it is hard to differentiate which are which. The reports are often about 70 pages and not straight forward !!! If possible we would like to print stock reports in various ways e.g. so that the highest quanties to lowest quantities.

We therefore thought Sage would be the answer looking into using it with Actinic Link. We dont use Sage for anything to do with this current business at the moment but have it as we use it for another companys at the same premises. We seem to only be able to print a stock list from Actinic in random order, so thought we would try and import it into Sage Line 50 Accounts + 2010. We have spent time speaking to Actinic and have installed Actinic link to do this and managed to import an order into Sage, but so far no luck with the stock. Actinic are looking in to it but not sure if we will actually get any answer.

Has anyone any ideas on how we can do this?

    Best Regards

We use Sage for all our stock control. We have many associated products and have no problems.

If you are importing your orders from Actinic straight into invoicing the stock levels will not change until the invoice is updated.

If you are importing to "Sales Order" the stock levels will change when the invoice is created from the sales order.

Have you exported all your product information from Actinic and imported to Sage?

        Thanks for your reply Julie.

All we have done so far is import the products into sage with the same product codes as actinic(which we hope to change when we get it working correctly) and created one customer file (which when we open holds the details for the orders such as name, order number etc.). Im not very familiar with the sage system unfortunately so im not exactly sure whats happening when we do export from actinic apart from the order values and some details going into the customer file. Im sure we're missing a step or something somewhere but not being familiar with sage its an absolute pain trying to figure out what it is.

        Thanks for the help

          Hiya Will

          You will need to:

          1. Make sure all your products are in Sage
          2. Make a translation table in Actinic Sage Link

When you do this Actinic will use the Sage products when it exports and thus takes off the stock etc

The translation table is not required as all the product codes are identical on both systems (sage&actinic) we have tried this with altered codes and a translation table and it still will not remove stock

            thanks anyway
