Printing on integrated label paper

Hi,

Apols for a fairly simple question, but I have been using Mole End's ingegrated label paper for a while now, but both my printers (HP) regularly do not allow the paper to feed in correctly and so completley messes up the invoice print on many occasions.

Before I spend out on yet another printer can anyone out there, based on experience, advise me of a decent printer make/model (wireless) which doesn't do this?

Hi Ian,

we are using a konica printer at the moment

We did use HP printers for a long time but changed to reduce the cost of ink / printers.

There are a few of things that you can do to make sure that the paper prints without problems :

1) Fan the paper before putting it into the printer.

2) Ideally the printer should pickup the paper up paper end 1st (on the opposite end to the label). You may need to change in printing preferences to rotate by 180 degrees.

3) You may need to change the paper type setting to heavy paper (more details and examples on this point here :

Hi Jan,

Thank you very much for this. The ideal answer, as you have mentioned is to get the printer to pick up the paper at the bottom end first but I couldn't find any 'rotate 180' option in the printer preferences for my printer and after a long email discussion with HP support they finally admitted it couldn't be done on my printer. And as my printer is not a laser I guess the paper weight setting won't make any difference?

However, I'll double check all this again and experiment again if I can. Failing any success guess I will just invest in a Konica printer!

I would advise you to check and clean the wheel that rolls over the paper to pick it up. If it is greasy it can slip on the paper and fail to pick it up. I had awful problems with my printer picking up the intergrated paper and it is now fine providing I keep this wheel clean. I use a screen wipe on it.
