Facebook and Twitter

Can someone please explain how to add facebook and twitter to actinic, so customers can see these pages. I know twitter will give you a script, but when I enter it in a line in the design section, it preveiws in one position, once uploaded it puts it somewhere else and then on diffenent pages seems to put it anywhere, even over products.
