Hide unused components in cart ?

Hi all,

This question applies to v10 demo and also v7.7

I will have products with many components / choices but only want the customer to see the components they have selected show up in the cart, otherwise its going to be really confusing and they may think they have ordered the lot.

I have found 2 previous posts which show how to hide all components from cart or just hide the quantity of components but unfortunately this does not help me.

I really hope this is possible.
