    server error no fil file

    HI,

I'm really not sure why this is happening and have tried everything today.
In the end I deleted all the files from the web and did a web refresh but am still getting this error:

    A General Script Error Occurred

Error: Error opening configuration file ../acatalog/locations.fil. No such file or directory
Press the Browser back button and try again or contact the site owner

I also imported an earlier snapshot in case I did do anything today but still getting this.

Any ideas or help would be really appreciated.

The site is: http://www.valves-online.co.uk and the problem occurs when you try to buy anything or view shopping cart, or use the search.

    Thanks
    Keith

    Cheers Keith

keith It looks as if it may be a corrupt perl script file. Have you tried "purge and refresh" or deleting all the perl files from the cgi-bin first and then running purge and refresh. If not you have backup perl files you could use.

Thanks James, just deleted all the cgi bin.... will see how that goes, I actually remember trying out the hack to the orderscript for taking out the password for customers online but had replaced it with the old version...

      Thanks

No still having this issue after:

        1. Purge and Refresh
        2. Delete all pm and pl files in cgi bin - reupload
        3. Copy original pl and pm files from original folder in programmes/actinic and then paste into actinic site folder, reupload.
        4. still getting server errors

        Cheers Keith

Has this suddenly started happening? If so then it may be your hosting. Do a network test and check for errors.

It may be worth trying a different perl script number sequence ie 99. For example 1 is normally used, ie all scripts ending in 000001.PL maybe try 000099. Just a thought.
            Regards
            John

Hi John, will try that although I did change the script ID in network settings to 2 to see if that would work, but no.
Would 99 be worth a try as well?

                Cheers Keith

No, not if you already tried a different number.

Was the site working and then suddenly stopped or did you make some changes that triggered the problem?

Well, I did edit the orderscript.pl file but replaced it again with the earlier version, so no changes there, also added some new zones to the shipping and thats it.
But even after the first problem I then reimported an earlier snapshot but still the same.
Strange things is I use firefox for ftp and in the acatalog directory I can only view half the files, only 2 fl files showing but in cpanel file directory I can see them.

I'm a but confused on this one?

                    Cheers Keith

Well I found out that some of the fil files were missing so uploaded them to the acatalog directory and the site oredering works now.
Not sure how to go from this point as I'm wondering if uploading from actinic will cause them to be deleted again?

Support from actinic cover was less than helpful, still will work on why this happened over the weekend and as thanks to those who posted advice for me, much appreciated!

                      Cheers

I am a little closer to finding out whats happening here, when I import a customer from sage using actinic link and then do an upload to web, actinic deletes the .fil files. This has happened each time on importing a customer.
Only once has the website purge and refresh worked so am posting snapshot to support who said they will look at this, any ideas from anyone would be most helpful.

                        thanks

Is there a fix for this yet? I am new to Actinic and about to put our first site live and have had a similar problem which appeared after loading customers from Sage via the link. I've cured it with a manual ftp, but that is hardly a solution.

Just a thought - is your hosting allowance running out of space - could be some files are 'dropping off the edge' during Upload/Refresh
                            Kind Regards

                              No, plenty of space.
