Permutation/Option Prices not including VAT

Hi All,

The shop I am working on has a bunch of Options, and permutations / Associated products etc for some Products.

The Store is set to show Product Price Including Tax for the main product prices.

But the options for the Permutation drop down Price display are as follows.
Additional Price
Additional Price in Brackets
Additional Price in Brackets with tax Message
Additional Price with Tax message in Brackets
Basic Price
Basic Price in Brackets
Basic Price with Tax Message
Basic Price with Tax Message in Brackets

None of these show the VAT inclusive price.

I dont really want to go into the library and add a * 1.175 etc to the PermutationPriceRaw bit as when the VAT changes next year, this will mean going into the code again to change stuff. It would be much better if I could just use "ProductPriceIncludingTax" in these drop downs, But when I try and put that in the Design Library for this, it does not work....

Any thoughts, it there some magic setting somewhere??

When you use associated products there's a tick box for 'use associated price'. There's also one for 'use associated tax'. Have you ticked that one?

I can see the option there, but it is Greyed out....

I have Valid ticked
Pricing is Associated Product
Name unticked
Tax from Associated Product - greyed out
Shipping from Associated Product Ticked

Hmm..

I'm not sure if this is a settings problem or just the way Actinic shows the price in drop downs. If so it should really be fixed. I remember a post from Jan a while back that showed how to show the prices inc VAT. Not sure how much that relies on manual adjustments. Let me find the thread and come back to you.

OK. I can't find the thread I was looking for but similar ones suggested that inc VAT dropdown pricing was going to be fixed in V9 so should be OK by now.

Which suggests it's more of a settings issue. I don't know why the 'associated tax' setting is greyed out. Someone else might know what's causing this.

But that relys on making a forced change to the code, something that would need to be done again when the VAT rate changes, rather than just changing the VTA rate in the Business Settings....

A complete guess - is simple tax selected, so all tax options are greyed out?

Yes, they are using Simple Tax in the Business Settings / Tax

So, this means that it limits their option further down the line for things like Permutations etc ?

I don't know Grant, i'm just guessing as to why it is greyed out and logic said to me that because tax is always the same (simple), it is not needed as an option and thus gets greyed out. permutations have been fixed to show inclusive pricing, so you should not need to manually add tax on, but i cannot say for sure whether having simple tax selected is stopping this from happening. Best thing is to switch on advanced and see what options are shown or if anything changes.

Some screenshots of the setup may help us to diagnose.

OK, Done some clicking about and have found the following out.

Having the Tax code in Simple or Advanced mode makes no difference either way.

But - if I have the "Component As Separate Order line" is checked in the General tab of the Component Details - then I get the option to put a Check in the "Tax from Associated Product" check box on the Permutations tab.



But when I preview the page I still get the Price showing excluding VAT



I know I have the layout there set as "Additional Price with Tax Message in Brackets - I can change that - but need the price being shown including VAT......

Does anyone else have Options and permutations set up for their shop showing the Prices of the options including VAT?

I do but I enter my prices including VAT so don't have this problem.

Do you think it would be work emailing Actinic Support to see why I am showing 2 different price formats on a page?

OK, looks like we will have alter the Library layout with a *1.175 in the relevant layout, and have to change this again when the tax rate changes in January etc.

I'm having the same problem and hard coding the vat dosen't work as I'm selling product school wear.
This means I have Zero rated and Vat prices in the drop down but can't replace the PermutationPriceRaw with anything.
Has anyone got any ideas how to get the vat inclusive or zero rated price into the dropdown?
