Snapshot not overwriting some site options / layouts

I have an issue whereby I am exporting design snapshots which are getting imported into an existing site I have created for a client and it seems the site options on my snapshot are not overwriting the existing options when imported.

I have tested it all myself and its not down to user error. If I export a site snap or design snap, the existing shop will not take on the site option settings. Could someone shed some light on this, please?!

Design snapshots have never worked properly and probably never will. Use full snapshots or in the words of support send a full snapshot and get customer to import it but not to tick any of the boxes as they do it. Apparently that gives a more reliable design snapshot.
