Hiding the Search function

All our customers have to register with us before being given access to the online store. Without a username etc., products and prices are hidden.
Except! .......
Without signing in, using the Search from the menu, brings up answers, which can then be viewed as if logged in.
We need to hide our product/prices so with the help of Actinic Support and the Advanced User Guide, added some code to 2 layouts concerned.
This hid the search okay, but it hid it from all users, even registered ones.
Any suggestions please?

I'm not sure how we can help too much if you don't show us what has been done so far, suffice to say what you want to do will be possible, it will be case of using the NOTINB2B tags i suspect.

Actinic has special tags <actinic:NOTINB2B>...</actinic:NOTINB2B> that hide content from logged in customers. They can be used to hide content from non-logged in customers by using them to introduce HTML that hides the items in question on normal pages
