    PDF login request ?

    I have a few PDF parts diagrams on my site, which were set up couple of months ago & working just fine.

    I tried to look at one of these today via the site, but instead of the PDF pop-ups I expected, I now get a login screen?

    I haven't to my knowledge changed anything to do with these - any ideas?

    Thanks.

    Do you have a URL of one that doesn't work? I found this one that worked fine for me: http://www.air-craft.net/acatalog/UltraInstructions.pdf

      Thank you the quick response.

      That particular batch work fine, it's the ones here that don't;

        Martin,
        Not 100% sure how you have set up this page in Actinic. Is it all in 1 fragment i.e. your own HTML for the 5 images or are the 5 images represented in Actinic by non-orderable products?

        The reason the links take you to the login in page is because Actinic is creating the links as:

        Code:
        http://www.air-craft.net/cgi-bin/ss000001.pl?SECTIONID=http://www.air-craft.net/acatalog/UltraSpares.pdf
        which then takes you to the login screen.

        You simply want these links to be:

        Code:
        http://www.air-craft.net/acatalog/UltraSpares.pdf

        instead.
        Either by manually putting in the HTML or finding another way to represent these images. It will depend on how you are doing this just now however.

          The links are set up as fragments for each PDF document, with the URL in the fragment link tab set us like;

          http://www.air-craft.net/acatalog/UltraSpares.pdf" target="_blank

          I have links set up the same way to PDF's on some of my products, which work fine?

          All the PDF's were uploaded in the same way, some time ago using the "additional files" feature.

            The 'link' facility uses the cgi-bin as does the logged in facility, i suspect you've found a limitation/bug in that area. Workaround will be to be probably create a cut down product layout, add a product using this new layout, tick to exclude from marketing lists and thus circumvent the issue.
