Home page not displaying at all - 403 forbidden error

Hi All

Very strange error here. The home page shows here:
http://www.carmatstore.co.uk/index.html

But not here:
http://www.carmatstore.co.uk/

The top level home page is set to act as the website home page within actinic, so confused and frustrated!

Check your htaccess file, i'm guessing at there being a problem in there.

How right you are! Had a rogue htaccess file on the server from an old Wordpress installation. Thanks!

There is now no htaccess file on the server at all. Is that likely to cause a problem?

I don't think so no, you should probably have one rule at least taking non-www URLs to the www URL though if nothing else.
