    Extended Information Page

    Hi,

Is it possible in Actinic to set up a product so when the image/more info box is clicked it takes the user to the same page with the info but has all of the site still there such as navigation side bars and inner layouts? It seems I can either have an empty box with an image and item description or the same page option checked to which it also gives a blank page and just shows the image and item description, just looks very basic and doesn't look very professional.

    Thanks

Its certainly possible, your extended info page layout needs to mirror your overall layout and needs to open in same window, you have to do this yourself I believe by creating a new layout. AUG or KB must have details of doing this on older versions.

Yeah that's what I've been looking for, just an option in site settings that will allow it to use the standard site layout, not found anything that will allow it yet though . . .

If its not listed as an option in site options, it will be a case of you creating a new ext info page layout yourself. Trick is to copy paste all above INNERLAYOUT above the extended info content and all below that, below the extended info content, so the extended info content becomes the INNERLAYOUT effectively.

You could always take the less sucky approach and use subsections, what I'd call proper SPP, so much easier and much better too. Tutorial on my site if SPP is a mystery term.

Just follow the leehack link to the left of his posts and look in "About Me".

Ok so I've taken the SPP approach and it's working well, I used to have for example: Vegetables > Artichoke > all the different types of artichoke. Where as now I have Vegetables > Artichoke > new sub section for each type of artichoke> product, and it works well, however on the site as it's showing sections it's not including anything other than the basic image and what the product is, is there a way to include an add to cart button or the price of the product?

              Thanks

Details and required code already in the forum and AUG. In AUG about page 22, under something like 'listing pages'.
